Donor Spotlight: The Miracle Movement

On Friday August 12th, The Miracle Movement, a group of young adults dedicated to giving back to their community, hosted “Lighters” a gala event at Shingar Banquet Hall.

The night could not have gone any better.  Despite traffic delays, the guests arrived ready to enjoy a night of good food, music, and dance in support of the women and children at Nellie’s.  Hundreds of students filled the banquet hall, united for one cause, ending violence against women and children.   Click here to watch Harneet Lehal, one of the founders of The Miracle Movement, explain why they chose to support Nellie’s.

Guests at “Lighters” enjoyed fresh Indian cuisine cooked by the Shingar staff,  the musical talents of Nspire Sound, Sound Theory Entertainment, and Deejay Nishe, and the amazing bhangra dance moves of NYPD.

The night was a great success and rasied over $1300 for our programs and services.  On behalf of everyone at Nellie’s we would like to thank The Miracle Movement and all their guests for coming out to a great event for a great cause.

Special thanks goes to the following volunteers: Harmeet Lehal, Harneet Lehal, Harleen Lehal, Pina Chahal, Harpreet Gill, Rummy Chaudhary, Sanam Sahota, Kiran Joshi, Navdeep Sahota, Lorin Verma, Baljeet Bassi, Tania Dhaliwal, Hardik Bhatt, Janoo Juneja, Savneet Sidhu, Nida Aziz, Navneet Sahota, Jaskaran Khela, Maneet Toor, Sarah Rana, Shivar Sharma, Rajvinder Gill.   Your dedication and support to making this night a success has helped the women and children at Nellie’s begin new lives, free from violence and abuse.  Thank you.
