Welcome Placement Students

This month we are so pleased to welcome 5 new placement students to Nellie’s.  Kikunda, Jennifer, and Jelissa come from the Social Service Worker Program at George Brown College, Anna comes from the Assaulted Women and Children’s Adovocate/Counsellor Program at George Brown, and Melisse comes from theCommunity and Justice Services program at Humber College.

Students are an integral part of Nellie’s. Their contribution of energy, skills and compassion help us provide the best possible services to the women and children in our care.  Students at Nellie’s work alongside our front-line staff, assisting in the areas of intake and counselling, program support and outreach, children’s programming, and fundraising.

Over the past two years, we have provided placement learning opportunities for 19 students for a total of 8,464 hours of direct service and support.  We  would like to thank all our past and present students at Nellie’s for their efforts in working towards ending violence, homelessness, and oppression in the lives of women and children in our community.

Welcome Kikunda, Jennifer, Jelissa, Anna, and Melisse!  We all look forward to working with you.
