We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you to our generous donors

Here at Nellie’s, we are forever grateful for the generosity of our donors near and far. It’s because of you that we can provide the day-to-day necessities of life as well as the much-needed outreach programs and services that foster learning and support. You have always ensured that we are able to meet the needs of the women and children living at Nellie’s as well as those using the programs and services at our community support and outreach site.

Here are a few who have recently supported us.

Greater Toronto Apartment Association (GTAA)
For the third year in a row, the Greater Toronto Apartment Association presented us with a cheque for $20,000 to put towards our general operating funds. Rather than being tied to a specific program or service, such a donation means we can spend the money on the area or areas where we see the greatest unmet need. The GTAA is an association of apartment owners and property managers who own and manage over 150,000 units in purpose-built rental buildings across the GTA; Nellie’s was one of seven Toronto area agencies who benefited this year from their generosity. Thank you GTAA for your leadership and incredible support!

Rothman Benson & Hedges Inc.
For the second year in a row, Rothman Benson & Hedges Inc. donated $20,000 in support of Nellie’s programs and services. Like the GTAA donation, the contribution was directed towards our general operating fund.

“Rothman Benson & Hedges is committed to working with small agencies in neighbourhoods where their employees live. We’re very grateful for their generosity and support,” says Ingrid Graham, Nellie’s Director of Development.

Tippet Foundation
We are continually grateful to the Tippet Foundation who once again gave Nellie’s a $12,500 grant to be put towards our general operating fund. The Tippet Foundation has been supporting families, children, youth, women and seniors in Toronto since 1948.

Students and teachers at two local schools
Both Dundas Public School and Riverdale Collegiate Institute held Me to We campaigns this fall in support of Nellie’s. Both collected car loads of non-perishable food items and diapers to help out our moms and kids.

“Thank you for your generous donation and beautiful community spirit. It’s so nice to see the culture of philanthropy being handed down to the next generation,” says Ingrid.

The women and children in our community count on us to be there for them when they need us and we thank every single community organization and corporation that has helped us to do just that this year.
