Sahar Zaidi

Sahar Zaidi joined Nellie’s Board of Directors in December 2013. She is the Project Director for the Scarborough Access Centre (SAC) where she develops a process for a co-location that will cater to woman and children who need to escape abuse and live in Scarborough. She is also the Project Coordinator for the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW National) where she carries out national projects, fundraising, marketing, communications, grant writing and advocacy.

Sahar also sits on the board for Our Place Community of Hope and Faith in Regent Park. Her passion to help women suffering from abuse has led to her setting up a project “Man in the Mirror”, which aims to bring resources, best practices, projects, grants and volunteers to organizations in Toronto.

Sahar holds a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the Schulich School of Business (2012), a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the American University of Sharjah (2010) and a BS in Accounting from Purdue University (2004). While completing her MPA, Sahar worked on research papers looking into Canadian immigration policies and their effects on victims of abuse.
