Nellie’s is proud to support and participate in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative. In 2011-2012 we met with over 20 student groups and graciously accepted a $5000 YPI Grant won by students at Monarch Park Collegiate.
Students who visit Nellie’s can expect to meet with a front-line staff person who will share their experience of working with the women and children at Nellie’s. Due to the confidential nature of our services, you will not be permitted to speak with any of the women staying at our shelter.
Some of the topics you will learn about during your visit include:
- Programs and Services
- History of the Organization
- Mission, Vision, and Values
- Fundraising and Funding Sources
- Special Events and Community Support
If you are a group of students interested in visiting Nellie’s, you can make an appointment to visit us during the week between 9:30 and 4:00pm. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 416-461-0769.
Once you have booked an appointment, please have a look at our website as it provides answers to many of the questions you may have about Nellie’s including Financial information, Funding information, Program information, how Nellie’s was founded and Women’s Stories.
